Job Title:
Maintenance Level III Position

Duties include but are not limited to repair and maintaining all physical aspects of machines including PM's floor calls, checking parallels, adjusting machines, banders, conveyors, stackers, building maintenance (all aspects), hydraulics, pneumatics, cleaning up shop, help maintain inventory, etc
Under general supervision, maintains, troubleshoots and services electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and controls related to production of corrugated board.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The maintenance level III technician will perform all duties in a safe manner and will immediately report any safety concerns to their supervisor; and will attend all safety training supplied by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities shall include the following:
(additional duties may be assigned as necessary);
1. Respond to floor calls - write work orders for further work required.
2. Perform PM's on a timely basis.
3. Repair Machines - complete work orders.
4. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts.
5. Diagnosing and repairing electrical controls, industrial motor control centers.
6. Installs and maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, and transformers.
7. Interprets blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions.
8. Lay-outs, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and new services, to include panels, breakers, and conduit.
9. Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
10. Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
11. Troubleshoots and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
12. Read and understand Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics.
13. Communicate with maintenance supervisor to determine operational problems and efficiency of electrical control systems.
14. Communicate between shifts and with operators.
15. Performing inspections of electrical components and distribution controls.
16. Participate in accident investigations.
17. Be able to start up all machines - production and support machines.
18. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
19. Clean up after jobs are complete.
In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Minimum Education and / or Experience
High School education and previous maintenance experience, the ability to read blueprints and parts breakdowns, welding and torching, plus being able to use a large variety of hand tools.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, Ability to calculate percentages, Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16th of an inch.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. He or she must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The maintenance level III technician is required to be available at all times.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job he or she is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The maintenance level III technician will follow all safety rules (i.e. Lockout / Tagout / Try) when working on machinery. In addition, steam, hydraulics, and electrical components are found in working areas. The individual will need to be constantly aware of their surroundings - it is typical for fork lifts and clamp trucks to be utilized in close proximity to the machinery.
Typical Equipment Used
Ability to use the following; Wrenches, prybar, screwdriver, grinder, portaband, welder, torch, lathe, milling machine, band saw, drill press, bearing press, gear pullers, forklift, jacks, dial caliper, micrometer, and all other hand tools.
